The few people who do know about it don't talk about it by name, and the vast majority have no idea it exists. Note that nobody ever mentions the NCR in Fallout 3 or 4. There is no direct line of communication or travel between the two coasts. They have no transcontinental railroad, intact interstate highway system, regular air service (zeppelin, airplane or otherwise,) and traversing the country on foot in the best of times would take at least a month. The NCR is about 3000 miles/4800km away from Boston/The Commonwealth. In my head canon the protagonists of all the other games are pretty heroic, but the courier for me at least is kind of a sleezebag so it all works nicely.īecause as we can see in Fallout 4 we didn't heard anything about the legion and the ncr. With House you're well paid, given a luxury apartment, a certain status of being the only one to enter the lucky 38. So to me the courier going all in on a faction for no real narrative reason doesnt work for me. Plus the Courier works from a narrative perspective to be more motivated by greed than any sense of loyalty. An evil dictator ruling a city state is pretty cool. Yesman basically exists so you can still beat the game if you bone up all the other options lol.īut as someone who almost always sides with the NCR (only not blatantly evil faction), if i had to pick one for being canon i'd go with House. Yes-man as an ending makes no logical sense and vegas would end up as a total shit hole once someone caps the courier, and you bet your ass people would try assassinating him/her.
